BOC Certification. A Standard For Excellence. BOC is an independent, not-for-profit agency that certifies orthotists, prosthetists, orthotic and mastectomy fitters and accredits their facilities. Since our founding in 1984, BOC has been dedicated to promoting the highest standards of excellence and competence of orthotists and prosthetists. Care That Fits The Patient. At BOC, we understand that correctly fabricating, and fitting orthotic and prosthetic devices help patients achieve healthy, confident living. Properly fitted orthotics and prosthetics enable patients to participate more fully in their rehabilitation programs, recover, feel better, and stay well. The mission of the Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC) is to develop and promote policies and procedures to assure patients, their physicians and the public-at-large of the competence of BOC-Certified practitioners and to ensure the availability of comprehensive orthotic, prosthetic and habilitative services in safe practice environments.
